Don't watch episode 10 while eating your dinner.

Warning: This article contains spoilers for The Walking Dead season 8 episode 10 'The Lost and The Plunderers', as well as gory images.

The Walking Dead has managed to outdo itself again, delivering one of the most disgusting moments (in a good way!) in the show's run.

The sequence also made us feel sorry for Scavengers leader Jadis (Pollyanna McIntosh).

Season 8 episode 10 tried a few things differently, but the biggest plot development came when Simon (Steven Ogg) went against Negan's orders and gave the green light to gun down every single Scavenger except for Jadis, in retaliation for the Scavengers defecting back to Rick's side.

Rick and Michonne arrived to find the scrapyard swarming with walkers of the Scavengers variety, but left Jadis behind despite her pleas to come with them.

This led to Jadis having to deal with the undead problem – and she sorted it out in such a brutally bloody way that fans were actually really digging it.

Mmm. Look at that goop.

Best not to watch and eat at the same time.

I think The Walking Dead made me a vegetarian. Gross. #walkingdead

Here are some more reactions that came from viewers watching that rather colourful scene:

@WalkingDead_AMC , the trash compactor scene was most disgusting thing ever!! Bravo! #walkingdeadfanforlife #WalkingDead

#WalkingDead really took us to next-level gore this week huh? Pulling out guts last week just wasn't enough I guess.

That whole grinder machine scene was brutal, gripping, sad, beautiful, and incredibly gross all at the same time. Bravo to the director and the entire cast/crew for this episode so far!! #WalkingDead #TheWalkingDead

Do we think this is the episode that all but confirms Jadis will become Whisperers leader Alpha?

Meanwhile, this latest episode might have subtly revealed who that helicopter belonged to. Or maybe it was a red herring. Before Simon wiped out the Scavengers, he suspiciously asked Jadis: "What's up with the helipad?"

The Walking Dead airs tonight (March 5) at 9pm on Fox in the UK and continues with season 8 episode 11 'Dead Or Alive Or' on March 11 on AMC.
